Actress Tia Walker is a performer currently based in New York City. A member of SAG-AFTRA, the majority of Ms. Walker’s work has been on stage and includes Off Broadway and Off-Off Broadway theatrical productions. During the COVID-19 shutdown of 2020 she was cast in a lead role for a production by Rocki Brown’s Corner2Stage that inevitably appeared as a Zoom release. She debuted in Joe DiNozzi & Darien De Maria’s comedy A Sketch of New York (2019) and also performed in UJAMMA Black Theater's A Black Christmas Carol (2019).
A former professional journalist she previously worked as a Freelance reporter for nearly a decade writing about Fashion and/or Entertainment. Writing credits include: luxury brand reporting specifically geared toward diversity for Lexus, as well as columns for Black Entertainment Television’s (BET.com) and UPTOWN Magazine.com. Additionally, she was a multi-year contributor to Black Enterprise.com and PatrickMcMullan.com. She is also the Founder of A-List Diet & Fitness, a celebrity inspired diet and fitness website, launched in 2014 and The Quest for "it" a longtime fashion and society blog established in 2005.
An enduring fashionista, she has served a Brand Ambassador for handbag designer Joanna Maxham during Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week as well as for Maxham’s a Fall 2011-2012 online campaign. Over the years she has walked the runway for several shows most notably during New York Fashion Week— in February 2015 as part of NOLCHA Fashion Week and in September 2010 for Designer Tamara Pogosian where she both opened and closed the show. She began as a showroom and eventual runway model while a senior in high school for Park Place Furs, a then furrier in Garden City, Long Island.
